SummaryThe software engineer willplay an integral role in the execution of the bank’s applicationand API development initiatives. They will integrate internal andexternal APIs, extend applications, and design high-performancebackend services. The ideal candidate will have experience in webapplication development, RESTful APIs, and the full softwaredevelopment life cycle. Experience with dev/ops concepts such assource control, continuous integration and containerization isdesirable as is experience in the financial services sector.
Additionally, hands on experience with relational databases will berequired to be successful in this role. The software engineer willwork closely with other team members to deliver enterprise-widesolutions. The software engineer will communicate effectively withother team members and management to deliver results in a timelyfashion.
Primary Duties Technical, hands-on candidate whose primary responsibility willbe designing, developing, enhancing, testing, and deployingsolutions to integrate business services and APIs Lead API lifecycle development Full stack web application development Responsible for software development and code quality Establish development standards and dev/ops process andprocedures Develop and maintain required documentation for all stages ofthe software development lifecycle. Work to promote code reuse across the organization. Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements toexisting systems and platforms. Participate in peer reviews for code analysis. Works closely with operational business units, architect, andtechnical groups to review, design, and implement requirements andstrategy. Other duties as assigned by the Software EngineeringManagerEssential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering ora related field. 3+ years application development (PHP / Laravel, VueJS,JavaScript) 2+ years developing RESTful web services. 2+ years working experience with agile projectdevelopment. Strong understanding of source/version control platforms(GIT) Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Working knowledge with continuous integration technologies(Jenkins) Working knowledge with containerization (Docker) Hands on experience with the creation and execution of testscenarios and testing (unit, UAT, integration) Solid experience with relational databases (MariaDB, MySQL, SQLServer) Solid experience with creation of technical requirements, userdocumentation and operations guides. Familiar with the following tools or technologies: (MicrosoftOffice, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio).
