Job Summary:

Brooksource is looking for a software engineer to join a customer application team at our fortune 500 Entertainment Client. The Senior Software Engineer will apply practical knowledge of application development and engineering to conceive, design, implement, test, and deploy both new software applications/platforms and changes to existing platforms, ranging from issue fixes to enhancements and new features for components of varying levels of complexity. The Senior Software Engineer will own design and development of assigned features, ensuring said deliverables are highly scalable and performant, and is expected to drive delivery of components through their own work and any junior engineers’ work. The Senior Software Engineer will provide technical guidance to team members and business partners, acting as both a subject matter expert and point of escalation based on the initiative.

Responsibilities:

Owns the design and development of software fixes, enhancements, components and/or new systems Drives development of components through own work and junior engineers’ work Develops technical solutions that meet specifications and impact future delivery efforts Executes assigned component-level software development projects and/or major fixes to existing applications using combination of new and existing technologies Develops specifications for assigned components, projects, or fixes Writes own code for delivery efforts and reviews others’ code for oversight Participates in setting the architectural direction for software delivery initiatives Lead troubleshooting efforts on end-to-end application issues, inclusive of both front-end and back-end solutions Interacts and coordinates deliverables with other technical groups across the organization Serves as high-level technical advisor and “go-to” resource for less experienced developers, providing tech-focused guidance and oversight Leads team members in problem analysis and issue resolution

Basic Qualifications:

7+ years of coding and software development experience, with focus on highly scalable, high-volume applications and/or platforms Experience with Java 11+, stream processing, JavaScript and/or TypeScript, JSON, messaging, AWS cloud infrastructure Strong understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, cloud computing Strong expertise in object-oriented programming with understanding of design principles, patterns, and coding best practices Experience with integration and deployment tooling, including Jenkins, Harness, Docker, etc. Familiarity with database platforms, including both relational (MySQL/MariaDB preferred) and NoSQL (DynamoDB and MongoDB preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, Reactive processing and/or streams
