NextEra Energy is currently seeking a Solar Fleet DC Field Engineer who can apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. In this role, the candidate will manage the panel flash testing program using a state-of-the-art mobile lab. This candidate will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes. This position requires supervision only related to high level objective and critical issues.
Areas of responsibility will mainly focus on panel flash testing and analysis, including but not limited to: Managing a testing program for panel flash testing as a solar panel subject matter expert (SME)
Operate a state-of-the-art Mobile lab Work with third party test centers to validate mobile lab is abiding to top tier testing standards
Conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) for critical or persistent issues with solar panels
Acting as the single point of contact for several panel manufacturers
Assisting the operations team with general DC field support and troubleshooting
Performing data analytics on test data and provide reports and recommendations
Creating reliability failure rate curves for component level failures to develop a spare parts strategy
50%-80% travel required to move mobile lab trailer between sites
This position requires the ability to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors or higher in Engineering At least 5 years of experience working in solar Experience conducting RCAs and working with vendors
Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher Job Overview Employees in this role apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Individuals will use advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices.
