Remote What You Will Do:
The Senior Principal Cloud Software Architect will be responsible for the overall design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of our cloud-based infrastructure and application platforms. This role involves close collaboration with Engineering leadership, Product Management, and Operations to ensure our cloud architecture supports business requirements, scalability, compliance, and maintainability.
Product and Technical Responsibilities:
Lead the architectural vision, design, and implementation of highly scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-based systems primarily hosted in GCP with supplementary components hosted in AWS. Provide strategic direction on the selection, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-native tools, platforms, and frameworks within the MEAN (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js) technology stack. Define and enforce best practices for cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and DevOps practices leveraging GitLab CI/CD for continuous integration and deployment. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems to enhance reliability, security, performance, and maintainability. Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to ensure architectural decisions are effectively translated into operational applications and systems.
Business Responsibilities:
Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to ensure architectural strategies align with current and future business objectives. Clearly articulate complex architectural concepts and designs to executive management, stakeholders, and engineering teams.
Compliance and Regulatory Responsibilities:
Ensure all cloud solutions and architectures adhere to healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, etc.). Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of architectures and cloud environments for audit purposes. Identify, assess, and mitigate security and compliance risks throughout the software architecture lifecycle.
What You Will Need:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 10+ years of professional experience in software architecture, engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles Extensive hands-on experience architecting scalable cloud-native applications primarily in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with additional experience in AWS Proven proficiency with MEAN stack development (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js) Demonstrable experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or similar tooling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior professional experience architecting cloud solutions specifically within the healthcare industry Professional cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) Experience working with Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager $149k – $329k salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility.
