Description Robert Half has a brand new opening for an Embedded Software Engineer with a local client here in Clearwater, FL. Looking for Mid-Sr level experience with Embedded Development and TCP/IP, along with either Python, C++, or Java. This is an in-office position (full-time hours). We are seeking a Embedded Software Engineer with a strong background in robotics and software integration to join our multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in both mechanical systems and real-time software environments. Responsibilities + Lead mechanical design and prototyping of robotic wellness products, from concept through to production. + Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate mechanical components with embedded systems and robotics platforms. + Develop and test robotic control systems using Python, focusing on multithreading and TCP/IP communication. + Interface with depth cameras and implement AI-based human pose detection for real-time interaction feedback. + Support Android/PC-based system integration for product UI, sensor management, and control workflows. + Optimize communication pipelines using multithreading techniques for fast, synchronized performance. + Contribute to the development of user interfaces (UIs) for control panels and consumer-facing apps. + Ensure mechanical designs support seamless integration with electronics, sensors, and embedded software. + Participate in cross-functional design reviews and product testing sessions. Requirements Required Skills & Qualifications + 5+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or embedded wellness/fitness systems + Proficiency in Python programming, especially for multithreaded, networked applications + Experience with TCP/IP networking communication for distributed or connected systems + Hands-on experience integrating depth cameras and computer vision systems + Knowledge of AI frameworks for real-time human pose detection (e.g., OpenPose, MediaPipe, etc.). + Strong understanding of Android or PC-based systems, including multithreaded programming and UI design + Familiarity with CAD tools and rapid prototyping methods + Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications + Experience working in the wellness, healthcare, or fitness technology sectors + Knowledge of embedded systems, ROS, or other robotics middleware + Familiarity with agile development environments and hardware/software co-design + Able to operate successfully at a fast-pace with a variety of different projects simultaneously Technology Doesn’t Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
