Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with sufficient experience to show competence and innovation in application development. Experience in developing web applications for forestry, agriculture and/or natural resources. Position Summary This position is part of the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health at the University of Georgia – Tifton Campus (Bugwood). The Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health develops, maintains and hosts a large number of digital tools and resources including web, smartphone, and database applications. This incumbent is responsible for working with center staff, federal and state agencies, and other stakeholders to maintain and develop the Bugwood digital resources. They also serve a leading role in web application development. The Application Programmer Associate must have a working knowledge of programming languages such as NodeJS, ColdFusion, Python and JavaScript.
Additional familiarity and experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Svelte would be a benefit. The job requires understanding of how to create web applications that provide users with efficient and effective means of interacting with data.
