Job Responsibilities:
Technical System Expertise:
Deep understanding of system parameters, configurations, andhow to alter them for desired results. Identifies system weaknesses, determines root causes, and findssolutions for improvement. Knowledgeable about current technology benefits. Creating complex software designs. Proficient in multiple technologies and subject areas,understanding the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, andtools required for software and automation work. Engages in independent study of current and futuretechnologies. Understands adjacent processes and workflows.
Technical Engineering Services:
Leads engineering projects and team members by developingsoftware solutions, conducting tests and inspections, and preparingreports and calculations. Supervises principal-level engineers as needed. Presents project improvement scenarios to the executive teamfor consideration.
Innovation:
Develops and implements new ideas to improve existing and newsystems, processes, or services. Applies new frameworks to enhance existing or new systems,processes, or services. Investigates options to proactively address potential concernsfrom new service offerings. Provides new industry perspectives and considerations withinthe NT organization. Leads the creation and protection of company intellectualproperty rights (IPR).
Technical Writing:
Writes detailed documentation on the architecture,capabilities, limitations, and advantages of technologies. Crafts clear documentation for new code and systems used orconsidered by the NT business unit. Documents system designs, presentations, and businessrequirements for review at the VP level. Contributes to industry standards and literature.
Technical Leadership:
Monitor and influence relevant industry technologies andstandards. Present highly technical concepts to both technical andnon-technical decision-makers. Continuously learn, build content, and facilitate training onspecific subject areas. Informally coach and contribute to the development of othersthrough mentoring or in-house workshops and learning sessions. Mentor and develop engineers across functional teams ontechnology decisions. Participate in formal internal training programs. Influencetechnology and policy decisions made across the Network Technologyorganization. Influence financial decisions, including NPV and ROI, based oncustomer experience and business drivers. Provides direction on creation of Chaos engineering practices,leads discovery of chaos scenarios with development teams andtrains technical resources on methodology. Leads SRE community to conduct “GameDay” in non-productionenvironment.
Technology Strategy:
Research and create new technology options to drive businesstransformation.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or Engineering(Required)
Work Experience:
7-10 years Technical engineering experience. (Required)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In depth knowledge of triage techniques, tools for performancetuning Java, language is required. Similar skill in Python and Gois desired. Strong Dev-Ops background and CI-CD pipeline knowledge isrequired. Background in developing software standards. Knowledge of Chaos testing tools and methodology isrequired. Corporate Bonus Target:
20% The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successfulcandidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay willbe based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications,and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within thisrange.
