JOB DESCRIPTION
The Programmer 3 serves as the primary programming resource for all FMOLHS organizations with responsibility for Supply Chain related custom application and code design, development, support and maintenance. Ensures all applications perform the desired results and maintains the assigned applications in order to maximize organizational performance. The senior level position has advanced knowledge in their field, assumes higher level projects and mentors and trains staff members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Duties
Designs efficient high quality application programs and systems by preparing test data and testing programs, creates efficient and logical program code, and writes clear and concise system descriptions that meet project requirements.
Provides installation, configuration, customization and integration of purchased solutions.
Evaluate business requirements and processes to provide possible solutions and accurate estimates for development efforts.
Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems and internal and external checks, controls and outputs.
Modifies existing programs to conform to system changes or to make improvements in those programs. Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes and corrections.
Advises users to resolve computer applications, capabilities, alternative programming approaches, limitations, etc. Works with hospital departments to resolve specific problems or make changes in programs.
Develops and implements data driven performance improvement methodologies. Maintains accurate records for use in evaluating organizational performance. Identifies ways of improving current services and consults with management on issues and problems.
Ensures security, integrity, and privacy of FMOLHS data in conjunction with FMOLHS policies and procedures.
Utilizes IS project management methodology and best practices to improve individual and organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS
5 years programming experience. Bachelor’s degree in IT field substitutes for 2 years of experience.
High School graduate or equivalent.
