The applications in which our products are used are typically inthe higher-performance, higher-power segments of the marketsegments we serve. Our products are sold worldwide to customersranging from small to large global original equipment manufacturers(OEMs), their contract manufacturers (CM’s) and internationally todistributors who support their supply chains. Our Advanced Productsserve customers concentrated in the High Performance Computing,Aerospace and Defense, Industrial and Automotive markets.

Applications range from powering advanced processors in servermotherboards and artificial intelligence accelerator cards andsystems, server rack power conversion, radar systems, industrialautomation, instrumentation, test equipment, solid state lighting,telecommunications and networking infrastructure, and mild hybridand pure electric vehicle (EV) automobiles. Our Brick Productsserve customers in aerospace and defense electronics, industrialautomation, industrial equipment, instrumentation and testequipment, and transportation (notably in rail and heavy equipmentapplications).

Job Summary An opportunity to joina team of world class engineers in creating leading edge powercomponents and solutions. The Principal Applications Engineer willwork closely with customers to secure new business and work withthe application design team to provide designs that meet customercriteria. Job Description Work closely with key VPC customers tosecure new business. Work with application design team to providedesign that meets customer criteria, and work with the customer asneeded to transition the design into mass production. Developapplication notes and industry documentation for new VPC productsand applications. Manage the development, review, and release ofthe documentation. Work with Field Application Engineers to developapplication notes and provide training as necessary on new VPCproducts and applications. Investigate, research, and visitpotential customers as necessary to determine a complete set ofrequirements for a new market or application. Document industryrequirements and develop strategies for addressing customerspecific variations on general requirements. Work closely with WWField Applications Engineering to train them in presenting systemlevel solutions to customers and assist in the development ofreference design, application note, and demonstration guidedocumentation. Work closely with VPC Product Design Engineering indeveloping new roadmap VPC products with appropriate functionalityand features to support next generation systems in key VPC markets.

Perform system testing with new VPC products, validate that theyfunction per specification and work with the product design team asnecessary to address any improvements. Manage the development ofproduct support tools and hardware, including models, evaluationboards, data sheets and reference designs. Align the development ofthese tools with product release; work with marketing to coordinatedocumentation and tool release with product launches. Education /Qualifications BSEE required with 10 yrs experience in powerelectronics design and/or applications Experience in engaging,securing design wins, designing, and troubleshooting with Tier 1customers. Ability to manage groups and projects and works withother departments to meet deadlines and communicate critical designgoals. Proficiency with bench tools for analysis (oscilloscopes,network analyzers, EMI, etc.). Experience in design of powersystems using power components (using VPC Chips a plus).Troubleshooting skill and experience with complex power systems.
