Applications Engineer This is an exciting opportunity for anexperienced electrical engineer who wants to incorporate a blend oftheir software, hardware design, and communication skills withtheir semiconductor device knowledge. The primary focus of thisposition is to develop electronic device production solutions forour customers, who are Fortune 500 companies that compete in thePMIC Market, using ATE (Automatic Test Equipment). A secondaryresponsibility is to support System Engineering with new productvalidation. The development of test solutions and instrumentationfor the PMIC Market is a strategic focus of the Company’s ongoingmission to market a comprehensive portfolio of focused andcost-efficient test solutions for semiconductors.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities:
Test Plan Development
- develop a test planbased on customer-published specifications. The test plan includesa description of all required tests as specified by the customer’spublished specifications and the conditions and steps required foreach of the tests Test Solution Development
- develop and debug thetest solution hardware and software based on a test plan.
Thisincludes:
Internal team collaboration and customer collaborationDevelop and oversee the device loadboard hardware design and debugthe hardware Software design and debugging to develop theproduction solution Gage Study
- collect and analyze statisticaldata to prove repeatability and reproducibility. Identify and fixproblem tests Review Gage Study data with customers and getcustomer’s approval for the release Customer Support
- Excellentpeople skills are required to interact with and be approachable tocustomers Provide on-site support for customer requests andimmediate escalation of issues Provide remote-site support for thecustomer if required (includes ramp-up support for production atthe customer site, on-site troubleshooting Cooperate with theApplications Team to meet corporate and departmental goals andobjectives Create SPRs (System Performance Reports) upon detectingany issues on the tester operating systems.
Develop ApplicationNotes for customers and internal use Cooperate with Sales andMarketing to support new and existing business development
Qualifications:
- BSEE, BSET, MSEE, or Equivalent
- Minimum 5-10years total experience. 5 years of experience in ATE and/orsemiconductor industry preferred
- Experience with PMIC devices andAnalog building blocks OpAmps, A/D Converters, D/A Converters,Voltage Regulators preferred
- Microsoft Office experience expectedand/or exposure to Open Office
- C++ programming course workrequired; experience preferred
- Basic Linux/Unix navigation andexecution of commands required
- Fluent in English (written andspoken) Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
- Excellent System level troubleshooting skills are mandatory.
- Basic Digital Signal Processing knowledge.
- Basic programmingskills with standard programming languages like Python andC/C++
