Within the Smartsheet Professional Services (“PS”) organization, we are looking for an experienced Principal Solutions Consultant (“PSC” or “Principal”), leveraging best-in-class Smartsheet expertise to develop and deploy enterprise technology solutions utilizing the Smartsheet platform. This role offers strategic problem-solving, technical leadership, coaching, and deployment support for both new and existing service offerings. The PSC possesses strong business acumen and the ability to understand our customer’s business goals and value drivers, while establishing the right solutions to drive critical business outcomes. As a SME, you will collaborate closely with executive-level stakeholders to align Smartsheet’s capabilities with their business objectives and value drivers while establishing solutions to drive critical business outcomes. The Smartsheet PSC is an experienced subject matter expert focused on the development and delivery of value-added integration and consultative services in the area of enterprise solutions, designing, deploying, and integrating various product sets. You will provide thought leadership and best practices while promoting the use of Smartsheet technology to drive customer success and the development and growth into new domains, working closely with internal services engineering, product, and marketing teams. As part of this organization, you will support three main categories of effort centered around driving value to the greater Professional Services ecosystem and initiatives: Strategic Innovation, Customer Opportunity Support, and Delivery Excellence. Within this scope, you will lead and enable delivery of new services and capabilities across the PS delivery team while helping to develop new IP to support our customer’s technology journey and new business opportunities or emerging areas. The position requires individuals who have a proven track record of finding creative ways of solving complex and unique problems. You are an out-of-the-box thinker and dynamic storyteller that can drive customer success, and build lasting relationships. This individual will be responsible for working with the most complex, high visibility accounts. You will report to the Regional Director of Consulting – East . This is a remote-eligible position, and you may work remotely from anywhere in the Eastern Time Zone where Smartsheet is registered.
You Will:
Be the advisory and technical lead, delivering the most complex solutions within a customer environment. Support advanced technical knowledge of Smartsheet solutions and products including new releases, enhancements, design architecture and integrations. Understand and articulate complex business problem(s) customers are trying to solve for, to identify the right solution to bring forward to the customer. Lead efforts to proactively identify important customer use cases and key business value drivers, ensuring proper documentation and collaboration with internal Smartsheet teams. Extend key learnings and insights to the broader PS ecosystem and contribute to driving impactful cross-functional initiatives, where prioritized. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and help ensure consistent and high standards of service delivery. Stay current on industry trends, competitive analysis and market differentiation, sharing insights and knowledge with clients and colleagues as applicable. Drive platform configuration guidance, best practices, and the thought leadership to customers and internal Smartsheet teams. Drive consensus with customers in solving complex business challenges. Deliver proof of concept and proof of technologies to customers. Convey technical details to technical and non-technical audiences. Handle objectives professionally, answer questions quickly and coherently, deal with challenges assertively and persuasively. Provide guidance and feedback to consulting and services engineering teams to enhance customer engagement outcomes in process mapping, solution architecture, and delivery of new IP. Ensure that clients’ needs have been met and that product/solution is fully functioning according to specifications. Lead all categories of workshops to determine customer business and technical challenges and provide thought leadership, architectural design specifications, and the plan for solving these customer challenges. In collaboration with other Principals, work to influence team members, broader internal team, and external customers, including senior management, to agree and accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. Support events including customer conferences, user groups, trade shows, executive briefings by delivering thought leadership. Collaborate with services engineering and marketing to develop processes and materials that showcase customers’ realized value during implementation and proposed future projects. Work with account teams to identify and communicate new opportunities. Assist account team in strategic account pursuits – able to independently and comfortably present on data, analytics, and the underlying methodologies underpinning our CWM intelligence. Independently deepen relationships with clients and expand active user base with PS initiated and account team-approved strategies and tactics. Assist in the ongoing development and delivery of training for new and existing Consultants on client engagement best practices. Perform in a billable capacity where applicable within customer engagements. Maintain expert level certifications including Smartsheet and adjacent technologies.
