The Opportunity:
The Learning Media Developer (LMD) for Unity Environmental University’s Career Institute (CI) is responsible for the creation, production, and optimization of media assets that enhance the student learning experience. his includes recording and editing lectures in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs), coaching SMEs on effective recording techniques, and producing educational videos that clarify and support complex course material. The LMD partners closely with Learning Designers (LDs) to create interactive e-learning components, engaging infographics, and other instructional media that enrich the student experience. This role also plays a critical part in identifying innovative, media-based strategies to elevate student engagement and comprehension within the learning environment. This position unlocks capacity for the Career Institute Learning Designers (LDs) to develop media assets that can be deployed within courses, across courses, and for informational purposes about course design. While the media developed may include informational videos about course content and learning expectations, while some of the content may be repurposed for promotional reasons, the role does not include any marketing or recruitment related content. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in video production, graphic design, project management, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Learning Design team.
Day to day responsibilities:
Create, edit, and produce high-quality video content for online courses and online platforms.
Ensure videos are engaging, instructional, accessible, and meet the university’s quality and branding standards.
Collaborate with LDs on the creation and implementation of media elements that enhance the student experience.
Develop media content for educational purposes that it is at the quality that it could be repurposed for marketing purposes.
Create visual assets for use across various digital platforms.
Work collaboratively to develop media content that embodies the Unity CI mission and Unity CI curriculum quality, is instructional, and is compelling.
Regularly review and update course media content to ensure it remains current and effective.
Optimize media content for performance across various platforms and devices.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in media production and graphic design.
Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance student engagement and learning experiences.
Provide training and support to faculty and staff in the effective use of media tools and techniques.
Develop and maintain documentation for media production workflows, templates, and best practices to support consistency and efficiency in media development.
Develop documentation and tutorials that facilitate the use of media tools by non-technical staff.
Ensure all media content complies with relevant accessibility standards and copyright laws.
Ensure accessibility and diversity of representation across media.

Do you have the skills?
Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia, Graphic Design, Film Production, or a related field.
Experience with video editing, animation, and motion graphics, and proficiency with related software (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
Proficiency with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
Proficiency with interactive eLearning development tools and processes (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise)
Familiarity with multimedia formats and encoding for different platforms.
Knowledge of audio editing and sound production.
Strong artistic and creative skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Personal commitment to the environmental mission of the university.
Preferred skills:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Familiarity with e-learning platforms and technologies.

The facilities are within easy access to one of the fastest-growing cities for startups in the country.
Work Schedule:
Work hours are specific to the requirements of this position and can include days, evenings, and weekends. Working extended hours required as needed. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and meeting the Institution’s needs. Although Unity Environmental University employees are generally scheduled to work at their specifically assigned locations, there are times when travel is necessary and employees are required from time to time to attend events, meetings or work temporary assignment at any Unity Environmental University location.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of either hand for repetitive movements such as grasping, grasping and turning, and fine manipulation is required as is the ability to use the telephone for internal and external communications.
