We are seeking a SoftwareEngineer to support unique systems solutions for the NationalGeospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). As a member of our team, youwill support U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and intelligencecommunity efforts in St. Louis, MO. This position involvesproviding software development capabilities to enhance existing andemerging client capabilities, including design and development,modernization of existing applications and services, and operationsand sustainment. The role focuses on driving the client’sadaptation of higher levels of automation and operationalefficiency through agile development methodologies, rapidprototyping, and modern technology stacks.
Essential Job Functions:
Utilize DevSecOps principles and practices in modernizing tools andsoftware architecture. Leverage microservice design principles andsupport integration of modernized software architecture,applications, tools, algorithms, and capabilities with existingtools. Develop integration plans, procedures, and organizeresources to facilitate integration of advanced technologies.
Document activities, analyze progress, and make recommendations tothe team. Work both individually and with a broader engineeringteam. Develop, modernize, and maintain software applications andservices. Leverage agile methodologies to enhance operationalefficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliverhigh-quality software solutions.
Required Skills:
Due to thesensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship isrequired. At least a BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering,Mathematics, Information Systems, or related technical discipline;and at least 5 years of related experience. Applicants selectedwill be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation andmust meet eligibility requirements for access to classifiedinformation. Requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with SAPeligibility. Working in Agile environments. Using GitLab for codesource repository and using GitLab CI/CD. Web servicesarchitecture, design, and development. AWS and AWS tooling (ex. S3,Dynamo
DB, SQS, SNS
). Developing customized code, scripts, modules,macro procedures, or libraries for specialized spatial analysisfunctions using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, C,C++, C#, Perl, or similar. Excellent written and verbal Englishcommunications skills. Ability to work well in team environments.
Ability to travel, as required.
Desired Skills:
Understand the NGASoftware Way. Knowledge of U.S. DoD and IC tools. Master’s degreein computer science or a related STEM field. Security, CompTIA.Experience in hands-on development and modernization of softwaresystems. Abstracting new or legacy systems via standards-basedAPIs, including Open Geospatial Consortium standards.
