MS 39157. GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Software Developer I will work under the supervision of the Vice President of Software Development or Project Manager. This is an entry level role. Assigned work will help to broaden the SDI’s experience and increase programming skills. To perform the job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Design, develop, and maintain both new and existing code, ranging from client-side development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, to server-side code using C# and
ASP.NET MVC
3.5+, Web API, Windows Services, ADO.NET and Entity Framework for data persistence and retrieval, using Linq, SQL, or a combination of the two. Develop rich web interfaces and maintain front-end code (HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript). Maintain a repository of common assets and reusable code through Azure DevOps. Contribute to all software development cycle activities including design, development, documenting, and testing. Review and understand functional requirements to be able to deliver and present application designs and UI prototypes focusing on workflow and usability. Must have the aptitude to put a test strategy or solution in place. Receives direction from Lead Software Developer and Department Manager.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate for this position would have the following required experience as follows: Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Programming or related field, equivalent work experience, or coding academy. Must be proficient with server-side technologies such as ASP.NET, and .NET Core. Must have an entry-level proficiency coding HTML and CSS and an intimate knowledge of cross-browser challenges and developing CSS-driven layouts. Must have a passion for user-centric design, web standards, usability, and clean code, a working knowledge of source control systems. Must have a solid understanding of Usability, User Centered Design, and pre-disposition for finding and looking for efficiencies in process and workflow. The ideal candidate for this position would have the following preferred experience as follows: At least 1 years of experience working on large-scale, complex applications. At least 1 years developing object-oriented applications using .NET and SQL/Linq skills. At least 1 years of experience using RESTful Web API and asynchronous development. Experience working in Microsoft Cloud stack including Azure technologies.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Must have the ability to work independently while practicing effective time management skills. Must be able to prioritize work on multiple projects and meet project deadlines in an organized manner. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and have keen attention to details. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills are required. Must be able to handle high priority time sensitive work items.
