Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced Process Solution Software Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and software development to lead the development and implementation of internal processes that support DO-254 and DO-178 certification standards. This role is critical in helping us establish a robust framework for process assurance, documentation, and compliance, as we currently lack internal experience in these areas. This is a consultative role ideal for someone who thrives in a startup-like environment where they can shape foundational processes and guide a team through complex certification landscapes. ________________________________________
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of internal processes and documentation frameworks to support DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware) and DO-178 (Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification).
- Act as a subject matter expert and internal consultant for process assurance, compliance, and certification readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and quality assurance to ensure alignment with certification requirements.
- Define and implement documentation standards, templates, and workflows to support traceability, verification, and validation.
- Provide training and mentorship to internal teams on
DO-254/DO-178
concepts, best practices, and compliance strategies.
- Support audits, reviews, and gap analyses to ensure certification readiness.
- Stay current with industry standards and regulatory updates related to airborne systems certification.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience with DO-254 and DO-178 certification processes in aerospace or safety-critical systems.
- Strong understanding of process assurance, systems engineering, and lifecycle documentation.
- Experience developing and implementing internal frameworks for certification compliance.
- Familiarity with tools for requirements management, configuration management, and verification (e.g., DOORS, JIRA, Git, etc.).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and guide teams with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a consulting or advisory role for aerospace or defense companies.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Design, RTCA standards, and
FAA/EASA
certification processes. This role is remote with a 1 week onsite requirement per month. Travel expenses are covered by our client.
