About the role:
Raft is building a platform for the DoD t he enables operators and analysts to train custom computer vision models without any machine learning experience. Built on our extensive data platform and AI Toolkit, this platform not only orchestrates entire machine learning lifecycles, but also data ingestion, enrichment, model exporting and serving, and much more. All of this must be elegantly interpretable and controllable via the user interface, designed for use with our automated AI engineer AI system that collaborates with the operators and analysis every step of the way. The key technologies we utilize are TypeScript, React, and Kubernetes, and you’ll be hands-on working with a team of high achievers, directly impacting our warfighters ability to accomplish the mission.
What we are looking for:
5+ years of experience being a hands-on engineer
Extensive TypeScript and React experience with a track record of architecting complex frontend systems
Experience designing and implementing web-socket and RESTFul APIs with a focus on scalability and security
Advanced experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch to handle low-latency requirements
Curious about working with imagery and video, especially from drones, satellites, and other military assets
Expert knowledge of software design and architecture patterns
Experience with building, releasing, and optimizing software in cloud-native environments (i.e. Kubernetes)
Able to obtain a Security+ certification within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
Bachelor’s in Computer Science / Engineering / Physics / Mathematics; Master’s preferred Highly preferred: Strong Python experience is a plus
Experience designing and implementing DAGs and queuing systems
Experience with AWS infrastructure design and microservices architecture
Track record of mentoring junior engineers
Experience leading technical initiatives or small teams
Clearance Requirements:
Active Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain SCI eligibility.
Work Type:
Onsite minimum 3 days a week at Fort Bragg, NC
May require up to 25% travel
Salary Range:
$140,000 – $190,000
