JobDescriptionJob Profile Summary:
TheAssessmentDeveloper(AD)isresponsible for thedevelopment andmaintenance of Western Governors University’s(WGU)objective andperformance-based assessments.
An AD facilitatesdesignanddevelopment workshops using industry best practices to ensureassessment validity and reliability.
The individualcombinesstrategic and creative thinking with efficient,time-sensitive execution to drive the creation of assessments andmitigate risks.
Location:
This position requires you to live and workin either our Salt Lake City, UT, office or our Raleigh, NC,office. You would work a hybrid schedule in the office 4 days aweek, with one day remote.
Essential Functions andResponsibilities:
Managesthedesign anddevelopment process for both objective andperformance assessments,includingmilestones andtimelines,andtracksprogress. Communicatesproject status updates to cross-functional teamsand stakeholders. Workswith cross-functional teams to ensure projects haveappropriate resources and realistic timelines andto solve anycontent-related issues regarding theassessments. Organizesand facilitatesworkshops for internal assessmentdevelopment and review. Overseessubject matter expert involvement inthedesign,development,and review processes, as well asin thevalidation of an assessment’s congruency and accuracy. Maintainsassessmentdesign anddevelopment standardsto ensureassessment integrity. Identifiesand mitigatesrisks that may impact the qualityoron-time delivery of assessments. Collaborateswith the assessment team to define and executeassessment policies,processes, and best practices. Ensuresalignmentand consistencyof assessments to WGU’s businessobjectives. Developsand implementsitem-and exam-level scoring guidelinesand validatesthe successful implementation of theseguidelines. Overseesassessment QA processes, identifying andresolvingissues and trends, as required. Maintainsknowledge ofexam performance and makesnecessaryquality improvement adjustments throughout the exam lifecycle. Participatesin cross-functional team to implement exam securitymeasures. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degreein relevant disciplines or equivalentexperience(master’s degree preferred). 3+ years of assessmentdesign anddevelopmentexperience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project management experience (PMP certificationpreferred). Experiencewithboth objective and performance assessment. Experience in online assessment and education. Experience managing vendor and external resourcesrelationships. Strong experience with distance education and distance learningstudents. Terminal degree and all applicable licenses orcertifications. Using AI development tools.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on acomputer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
