About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Principal Performance Architect to join our dynamic and expanding team. This role is pivotal in defining and advancing state-of-the-art server microprocessors and accelerators. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise and creativity to tackle complex optimization challenges related to performance and power, develop cutting-edge evaluation methodologies, and collaborate closely with our circuit design microarchitects. What you’ll achieve: Joining the Aurora team means you will contribute to the creation of a groundbreaking AI compute product that supports sustainability and performance, designed to operate efficiently across a variety of data center infrastructures. Model and evaluate server-class microprocessor components, including fabrics, memory technologies, and AI-accelerated compute cores. Your insights will drive the development of next-generation CPU and accelerator products. Gain a deep understanding of the problem domain of cutting-edge AI and its implications for advanced hardware systems, ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of technology. Devise innovative methodologies for constructing and evaluating accelerator workloads in collaboration with our software team, enhancing our ability to deliver high-performance solutions. Work closely with circuit design microarchitects to provide and collect critical data, guiding the development process and ensuring optimal performance, power efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Drive the correlation of performance models using post-silicon measurement data or pre-silicon simulation results, ensuring accuracy and reliability in our architectural designs. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documents, including architecture specifications, implementation guides, and user guides, to support internal teams and external partners.

About you:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 8 years of experience; or MS degree and 6 years of experience; or PhD degree and 3 years of experience Demonstrated experience in modeling microprocessor subsystems, with a keen understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of various techniques. Proficient in developing and testing software in collaborative environments, with strong skills in C++ and Python. Knowledge of hardware/software interaction, including OS, firmware, assembly, and CUDA, is a significant advantage. Comfortable with statistical analysis and adept at processing and presenting data clearly and effectively. Embrace a continuous learning mindset, aligning with Ampere’s foundational principle of growth and development. Exceptional communication skills, with a proactive approach to reaching out and asking questions, making this the most crucial qualification for success in this role. The full base pay range for this role is between $140,500 and $234,500.
