GDIT has a requirement for a Junior Software Engineer to join our SMAVCS4 Contract in support of the Environmental Protection Agency. The role will support the Center for Computational Toxicology & Exposure (CCTE), a scientific organization working to support EPA decisions by providing solutions-driven research to rapidly evaluate the potential human health and environmental risks due to exposures to environmental chemicals and ensure the integrity of the freshwater environment and its capacity to support human well-being. GDIT seeks a Junior Software Engineer to join our team, to provide dedicated support for the CCTE Division. This position requires in-depth knowledge of both Python and back-end web application development, with an emphasis on API Development. The role entails consistent interactions with clients at the EPA, on a large team, distributed across a few locations in the U.S. The selected candidate must be capable of self-direction with assigned work tasks as well as comfortable and familiar with best practices in remote work. Education:
Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science preferred

1-3 years of related professional IT experience

Ability to prioritize and complete a wide variety of tasking workloads with critical deadlines. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical parties (who may be key stakeholders). - The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 – $92,000.
This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
