About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialty Software Engineer to join our Capital Markets Risk Technology team. In this role, you will support the ongoing maintenance and future redesign of risk management applications. You’ll work closely with a hands-on RTM and a junior team, contributing to both business-as-usual operations and long-term modernization efforts.
This is a contingent resource assignment with a 2-3 year project horizon. You will be responsible for full stack development, data aggregation, and UI enhancements, with opportunities to work on Big Data modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance existing risk management applications.
Participate in the redesign and modernization of the platform.
Develop full stack solutions using Core Java, Angular/React, and SQL.
Aggregate and analyze data from risk calculation reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in Scrum ceremonies.
Contribute to strategic planning and problem-solving for complex software engineering challenges.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in full stack software development.
Proficiency in:
Core Java
Angular or React
Advanced SQL queries
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Big Data technologies such as:
Apache Iceberg
Spark
Hadoop
Dremio or Starburst
Familiarity with Capital Markets or financial risk systems.
Hands-on experience with data aggregation and reporting pipelines.
