VA (onsite 3x a week) Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Workday Technical Lead / Architect to provide leadership, strategic direction, and hands-on technical oversight in the implementation and continuous improvement of Workday solutions. This role requires deep expertise across multiple Workday modules and a strong track record of delivering scalable, innovative, and maintainable Workday implementations that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with the ability to manage technical delivery, provide architectural guidance, and mentor teams. You will serve as the key technical point of contact across Workday domains and play a critical role in shaping the future of our HR technology ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex Workday modules such as HCM, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Time & Absence, VNDLY, Peakon, and Extend. Align technical solutions with business goals and strategy, ensuring value delivery and scalability. Drive feature development , ensure readiness for semi-annual Workday releases , and support enterprise-wide solution adoption. Review current configurations and recommend process and technical enhancements to improve long-term efficiency and reduce technical debt. Act as a technical subject matter expert and point of contact for Workday projects and initiatives. Conduct work breakdowns , provide execution oversight, and maintain alignment with the broader Workday roadmap . Mentor team members on agile best practices , technical excellence, planning, estimation, and quality assurance. Monitor and enforce development standards, coding best practices, documentation, and solution quality. Leverage Workday Community and resources to stay ahead of platform advancements and industry trends. Champion innovation opportunities , DevOps practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Workday platform. Job Expectations & Required Experience Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience with Workday, including at least two of the following domains: Workday HCM (Pro Certification preferred) Advanced Compensation (Pro Certification preferred) Benefits Recruiting Time and Absence VNDLY Peakon Extend Demonstrated experience leading multiple Workday implementations and upgrades in a complex enterprise environment. Strong background in solution design , technical architecture, system integration, and release planning. Experience guiding teams in agile and DevOps environments, with a strong focus on high-quality, scalable solutions. Proven leadership in managing stakeholders, setting technical strategy, and guiding development teams. Deep understanding of Workday’s data model , security framework, and configuration standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively. Strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical opportunities into business value.
