POSITION MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS ENGINEER JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and implementing custom manufacturing fixtures and tooling solutions that improve production efficiency and solve practical workflow challenges across the Spiritus Systems Campus. This role emphasizes mechanical problem-solving, hands-on fixture development, and CAD/CAM design, with additional responsibility for supporting time studies and basic workflow analysis. The Manufacturing Solutions Engineer collaborates closely with production, engineering, and quality teams and is expected to spend the majority of their time on the production floor, actively identifying inefficiencies and creating solutions to improve safety, ergonomics, and output.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support, report to, and be directed by the Facilities & Engineering Manager in their duties. Design custom fixtures, tooling, and jigs in Fusion 360 to support manufacturing process. Collaborate with New Products Development team to design fixtures in support of pilot production and scale-up. Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives across production areas. Conduct time and motion studies and analyze workflows to enhance production efficiency. Work hands-on in the shop and production floor environment to modify, adapt, and improve fixtures. Implement 5S and Lean manufacturing principles to maintain organized and efficient workspaces. Provide ergonomic improvements to enhance workstation safety and comfort. Work with machine technicians and other team members to execute process improvements and troubleshoot issues. Maintain detailed design records and documentation for all solutions projects. Foster a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Full-time, on-site position. Proficiency with Fusion 360 required Competency with CAM software and CNC programming workflow Utilize appropriate software to perform job duties, such as but not limited to ADP, AccuMark, Lightburn, Cutworks, Fusion 360, Juki PM-1, Autodesk, Ethos CAD/CAM, Microsoft Office Suite and/or Microsoft Dynamics systems to facilitate job duties. May be required to travel for trade shows, training events, industry or company events, and/or contract manufacturers. May be required to work overtime and/or extended hours depending on business needs. Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and kneeling for up to and including 8 hours. Vision to view printed and electronic text and graphics. Ability to access information on computers, tablets, and electronics. Ability to handle and manipulate items with hands and/or fingers up to and including 8 hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior manufacturing experience, ideally cut & sew.
