You will work closely with Operations, and other departments to understand and optimize Software Applications. The Software Developer will report directly to the COO. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Developer – Automation & Application Integrator to join our law firm’s technology team. This role bridges application development with business systems integration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for customizing and optimizing our core legal technology platforms—including Needles, Neos, Lawmatics , and others—by implementing automated workflows, building dashboards, enhancing reporting accuracy, and maintaining seamless integrations across systems. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain automations and workflow logic to streamline legal operations and administrative processes. Customize dashboards and UI components to deliver actionable business intelligence to attorneys and staff. Collaborate with the system analyst to clean, consolidate, and optimize reporting and data presentation. Build and manage integrations between platforms (e.g., Lawmatics ↔ Neos, Neos ↔ Accounting, etc.) using APIs, middleware, or platform-native tools. Conduct regular system health checks and performance tuning of business applications. Participate in requirements gathering with legal teams to translate business needs into functional solutions. Document all workflows, automations, and integrations for internal reference and continuity. Stay current with platform updates (e.g., Neos, Lawmatics) and proactively propose enhancements. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in application development, automation, or systems integration roles. Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Power Automate, Zapier, or similar). Experience customizing and integrating legal case management systems , specifically Needles/Neos and Lawmatics . Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware platforms (e.g., Make, Zapier, Workato). Experience with database querying and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate business needs into technical solutions. Preferred Skills Hands-on experience in legal tech environments or professional services automation. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and related integration strategies. Understanding of data compliance and confidentiality considerations in a legal setting.
