Description of Work •This Role Is Eligible To Be Hybrid And Has Onsite Reporting Located Within Raleigh, NC •This Position Is Funded In Part Through Federal Funds. The Software Engineer serves as a senior-level technical professional supporting the development, configuration, administration, and maintenance of complex business applications across the department. This position provides end-to-end services within the software development lifecycle, including business analysis, system analysis, programming, testing, and production support. The role also supports data analytics and integration activities and will be involved in new development initiatives and modernization efforts across multiple platforms. Working independently and in a team environment, this position collaborates with internal stakeholders and clients to assess technical requirements, develop custom solutions, and ensure high-quality application delivery. This role also provides mentorship to junior staff and is responsible for monitoring application performance, performing code reviews, and ensuring systems are developed in compliance with security and quality assurance standards.

Key Duties Include:

Lead and participate in requirements gathering, systems analysis, and documentation for new and existing applications. Design and develop complex programs using Microsoft .

NET, SQL

Server Reporting Services, and Power Apps. Develop and maintain application interfaces and services using web standards (REST, SOAP, XML, JSON). Support and optimize databases in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other RDBMS platforms. Provide scripting and application support using Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Jupyter Notebooks. Analyze and resolve production issues and provide timely application support for business-critical systems. Collaborate with business analysts and developers using Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Create and maintain system documentation, technical specifications, and training materials. Assess application and system performance using monitoring tools and recommend enhancements. Ensure adherence to all security, privacy, and quality assurance standards across application development efforts.
