Elsevier, Inc. Visual Designer II 1600 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Four Penn Center, Philadelphia, PA 19103 JOB

DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the quality of character, environment rendering, and camera animation to define the visual identity of our products. Utilize programming and WebGL browser platforms to develop simulations for mobile platforms. Create two-dimensional and three-dimensional images depicting objects in motion. Develop tools for artists using different programming languages, using C#, C++, C, and python. Implement art related systems in simulations using 3D rendering software such as Maya and Autodesk 3ds Max. Communicate designs to developers using InVision or Zeplin. Regularly test design work with users in partnership with UX Research teams. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field required. 3 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.

Also required is:

3 years of experience: implementing physics systems utilizing 3D math and vectors in order to calculate and program character motion including head movement and walking, in addition to program graphics improvements using HLSL language; using Object Oriented programming languages including C#, C++, and Python program to maintain high quality simulations, as well as using design patterns to build robust and scalable simulations; coding and designing algorithms for different systems including input management, haptic feedback, and interaction systems to optimize data structures for performance improvements; in Game Engines including unity to create simulations and games for multiple platforms including WebGL, Mobile and Consoles, as well as for utilizing program tools for pipeline improvements for art to develop ready characters; developing virtual reality simulations to be used on devices including Oculus and Hololens, and implementing systems for clinical simulations including measuring pulses and blood pressure; and making networked simulation program player synchronization, and data storage over the network. Employee reports to Elsevier, Inc. office in Philadelphia, PA, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S. Experience can be concurrent.

SALARY RANGE

$93,639.42 to $124,600.00/year
