Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree inComputer Science, or related technical field AND 2 years technicalengineering experience with coding in languages including, but notlimited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalentexperience.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/orgovernment security screening requirements are required for thisrole. These requirements include, but are not limited to thefollowing specialized security screenings: The successful candidatemust have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance withaccess to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on aSingle Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government securityscreening requirements are required for this role. Failure tomaintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/orcustomer screening requirements may result in employment action upto and including termination.

Clearance Verification:

This positionrequires successful verification of the stated security clearanceto meet federal government customer requirements. You will be askedto provide clearance verification information prior to an offer ofemployment.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will berequired to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check uponhire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Clearance PreferredQualifications:

Understanding and experience with CI/CD conceptsand Git. 2 years of Windows / Linux hands on system experiencesExperience debugging issues ranging from the operating system,application, and all the way to the cloud. Experienced in solvingoperational issues in a scalable way. Ability to thrive with theambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changingenvironment. Support a 24×7 live site support model for theservices the team owns. Kubernetes, and the Kubernetes satellitetechnologies Some experience with building and supportinglarge-scale production services, including logging, monitoring,alerting, and measuring reliability and availability. Proficient inat least one scripting language but knows when to move solutionsinto managed code. Azure DevOps and GitHub tooling Demonstratedcommunication skills and ability to collaborate in amulti-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, ProgramManagers, Security Researchers, and Data Scientists SoftwareEngineering IC3

  • The typical base pay range for this role acrossthe U.S. is USD $98,300
  • $193,200 per year. There is a differentrange applicable to specific work locations, within the SanFrancisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and thebase pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200
  • $208,800 per year. Software Engineering IC4
  • The typical base payrange for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200
  • $229,200 peryear. There is a different range applicable to specific worklocations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York Citymetropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in thoselocations is USD $153,600
  • $250,200 per year.

Microsoft will beaccept applications and process offers for these roles on anongoing basis. Responsibilities The team provides leadership,direction and accountability for application architecture, Clouddesign, Infrastructure development and end to end implementationfor our Sovereign and Government Clouds. Demonstrated collaborationskills will be required to work closely with other engineeringteams to ensure services/systems are highly stable and performantand meet the expectations of internal and external customers andusers.

Core Responsibilities:

Build and improve services to bescalable and highly reliable. Help deliver and improve engineeringsystems and practices to deliver services in complex cloudenvironments. Contribute to design and automate service scalefeatures and customer requirements. Investigate pre-production andproduction issues, implement, and deploy fixes.
