This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing our legacy systems while integrating modern database functionalities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL programming and a passion for problem-solving within a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications with embedded SQL to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to existing COBOL applications and databases. Optimize existing code for performance improvements and efficiency. Document code changes, system modifications, and technical processes for future reference. Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards. Experience Proven experience in COBOL programming, particularly with embedded SQL integration. Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively. Familiarity with database management systems and SQL querying techniques. Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively with team members.
