TheStaff Software Architectis responsible for designingand developing advanced hardware and software solutions for one ofthe world’s top life sciences companies. The incumbent will workclosely with our software applications and research associates, aswell as with other functions, to design and develop MassSpectrometer software products and capabilities.
This positionreports to the Software Development Manager, Chief SoftwareArchitect, and is part of the Software Department located inConcord, Ontario, Canada and will be an on-site role.
In this role,you will have the opportunity to: Define and communicate software architecture and design strategiesthat align with both functional and non-functional requirements,ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. Design and develop critical platform infrastructure componentsusing advanced concepts like threading/async programming. Design and develop high complexity modules/subsystems forcontrolling analytical instruments and data mining with intelligentalgorithms. Evaluate and recommend new software development technologies,tools, and practices. Provide technical leadership by mentoring other less senior teammembers, conducting architectural reviews, and ensuringhigh-quality product artifacts, including requirementspecifications, design specifications, and code.
The essentialrequirements of the job include: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Long-standing experience (9+ years) in designing and developingapplications using OOP/OOD. Minimum 5 years of experience inC#/.NET. Experience with design and implementation of n-tier systems,reusable libraries, and development frameworks. Proven experience working in a cross-functional team of technicaland non-technical personnel. Strong understanding of architectural principles and patterns,ability to abstract and conceptualize complex systems, anddocumenting designs using modeling techniques like UML.It would bea plus if you also possess previous experience in: Mass Spectrometer and/or other analytical instruments ispreferred. Cloud technologies is preferred.
