Job Description:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Azure Architect to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a deep understanding of Azure infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), PowerShell scripting, network security, and RStudio. As a Senior Azure Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Azure cloud infrastructure to support our growing needs, with a particular focus on Azure networking, Azure Virtual Desktop, Kubernetes, business continuity and disaster recovery, Azure data services, Azure AI and Azure DevOps.
- Design and implement secure, highly available, and scalable Azure cloud solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop environments for remote work scenarios.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as ARM templates or Azure Bicep to manage cloud resources efficiently.
- Write and debug complex PowerShell scripts to automate cloud operations and deployment processes.
- Ensure network security best practices are implemented and maintained across all Azure services, including Kubernetes clusters.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to integrate RStudio within the Azure environment for advanced analytics.
- Lead the design and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery strategies within Azure, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
- Manage and optimize Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics, to support data-driven decision-making.
- Implement and oversee Azure DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, providing guidance on Azure best practices and technical challenges.
- Conduct system performance analysis and optimization to ensure efficient operations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure features and services, evaluating their potential impact on the organization’s infrastructure.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Azure services with existing systems.
- Provide technical leadership in the planning and execution of cloud migration projects, including containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Leverage Azure AI capabilities, including Azure Cognitive Services and Azure Machine Learning, to design intelligent cloud-native solutions and support advanced data science workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in a cloud architecture role, with a focus on Azure infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- In-depth knowledge of network security principles and their application in a cloud environment.
- Experience with RStudio and its integration with Azure for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience with Azure AI services, including Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Machine Learning, or custom AI model deployment in Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Kubernetes, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, Azure data services, and Azure DevOps.
- Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
