What will you be doing? Barclays Services Corp. seeks VP,Application Development Lead in Whippany, NJ (multiple positionsavailable): 1. Design, architect, develop and enhance complexcloud-based applications running on the distributed stack. 2. Leadand deliver strategic Java based micro services hosted on theinternal Barclays cloud platform, consisting of complex API andcloud framework design principles. 3. Identify areas of improvementand weakness in the application design and implement solution-basedproducts. 4. Design, automate and improve processes through use ofBusiness Process Modelling (BPM) and use of Camunda processautomation. 5. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiplecore Post Trade business functions, including the SWIFT & CRESTinterfaces. 6. Managed and execute technical analysis SystemIntegration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and overallsupport for critical projects. 7. Design, code, and create and rununit test cases and will facilitate UAT when applicable. 8.Document all requirements analysis, design test cases, and documentresults in the change request “Lifecycle” document. 9. Support andresolve level 3 issues as needed. Train colleagues on the FixedIncome Security Settlement (FISS) system, providing guidance to ITcolleagues and end FI Operations users. 10. Define, negotiate, anddeliver key engineering solutions involving strategic componentsand legacy architecture. 11. Manage the workload of onshore andoffshore team members to ensure business requirements and timelinesare met. Will have the following direct reports: 2 VP ComputerProgrammers, 5 AVP Computer Programmers and 1 Business Analyst. 12.May telecommute. This position is eligible for incentives pursuantto Barclays Employee Referral Program. Purpose of the role To leadand manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance,mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-qualitysoftware solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering aculture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functionalteams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Accountabilities Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering acollaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goalsand meet organizational objectives. Oversee timelines, teamallocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure thesuccessful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.

Mentor and support team members professional growth, conductperformance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identifyopportunities for improvement. Evaluation and enhancement ofengineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increaseefficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.

Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers,and other stakeholders to translate business requirements intotechnical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to productdevelopment. Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peerreviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure thedelivery of high-quality solutions. Plan resources, budgets, and policies;manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuousimprovements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures Ifmanaging a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, planningfor the department’s future needs and operations, counsellingemployees on performance and contributing to employee paydecisions/changes.
