ASP.NET MVC, VB.NET

, and a deep focus on Oracle PL/SQL to join our development team for a state government project based in Albany, NY. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of a new Facility Application Management System, and play a critical role in backend Oracle development, front-end logic, and business logic integration.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with a team of developers to design and develop a new Facility Application Management System using

ASP.NET MVC

. Work closely with Business Analysts to understand business requirements and convert them into logical system designs. Develop and maintain complex application modules using VB.NET and

ASP.NET MVC

. Write, modify, and optimize complex PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers , and queries in Oracle databases. Conduct unit testing of developed components and troubleshoot and correct bugs in existing code. Participate in system integration testing, deployment planning, and support documentation. Provide assistance and support in fulfilling data requests related to Day Care program data . Work under the direction of a Technical Lead, Project Manager, and Software Architect to ensure compliance with project goals and timelines. Ensure code is written to industry standards and best practices, including secure coding principles.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

7+ years of hands-on experience with .NET technologies , especially ASP.NET MVC and VB.NET . 5+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL development – stored procedures, functions, triggers, performance tuning. Strong understanding of relational database design , data modeling , and SQL performance tuning . Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments . Proven ability to analyze and debug complex code, as well as optimize application performance. Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience working on government or public sector projects is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Entity Framework or similar ORM tools. Familiarity with DevOps practices , version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS , and front-end frameworks is a plus. Prior experience with data warehousing or reporting systems is advantageous.

Work Environment:

This is an onsite role based in Albany, NY. The developer will work in a collaborative environment with daily interactions with technical leads, architects, analysts, and end-users to ensure successful delivery of project milestones.
