Software Engineer III Position Available In Monroe, New York

Paychex North America, Inc. seeks Software Engineer III (Webster, NY)

Job Duties:

Build and improve client-facing reporting applications within Flex product suite as part of Enterprise Reporting team, including assisting in administration of ODI, MicroStrategy and Adeptia.

Duties include:

1.Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software to meet requirements 2.Design and develop test automation code 3.Complete highly complex program changes; self-directed4.Perform comprehensive analysis and design for large-scale, project initiatives 5.Serve as a technical leader; make significant technical contributions, provide technical direction, and evaluate new technologies for adoption 6.Define development tasks and provide time estimates to aid in scheduling and monitor progress against task estimates7.Create database objects in Oracle database, develop SQL queries & PLSQL database programs using Toad8.Building and tuning complex ETL code to support near real time data transfer9.Surface data and create reports for end users using BI tools10.Develop automated test cases and execute tests against code11.Plan, document and execute test plans to ensure all code changes meet requirements/specifications12.Work with GIT as a source control tool, creates views, and perform code delivery, code label, code merge. 13.Perform peer source code reviews14.Implement best practices for performance tuning and optimization of application code.15.Ensure team compliance with SDLC standards and CD/CI procedures; introduce new standards and opportunities for improvements16.Provide the technical support for applications developed using Oracle Data Integrator, Python and MicroStrategy17.Research logs using Splunk to resolve system released issues18.Share technical expertise; guide and mentor others to maximize team effectiveness and quality 19.Provide technical feedback to product owners and scrum masters on business requirements so that they can make appropriate functional requirements and scheduling decisions. Hybrid – May telecommute up to 3 days per week.

All Requirements:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field (or foreign equivalent) and 3 years of experience in software development.

In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field (or foreign equipment) and 5 years of experience in software development.

Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include: 1)3 years of ETL / Oracle Data Integrator.2)3 years with databases and SQL sufficient to work with complex databases and Oracle stored procedures.3)1 year experience with Python development.4)1 year of performance tuning experience with OEM or similar tools.5)1 year with Agile programming.6)1 year automated Unit Testing experience.7)1 year experience conducting source code reviews.8)1 year experience with UNIX.9)1 year experience with deploy automation tools (e.g. XLD/XLR).10)1 year experience with build automation tools (e.g. Jenkins).
