Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Developer to lead and contribute to the development of robust, scalable, and compliant software solutions. This role involves overseeing platform operations, managing day-to-day requests, and driving long-term strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep expertise in JVM-based technologies, and recent experience in financial or investment banking environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code using Java, Kotlin, and Scala.
Oversee platform operations, including handling requests, managing projects, and shaping team strategy.
Enhance team performance by automating repetitive tasks and eliminating operational toil.
Streamline the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Ensure platform compliance with internal security, audit, and regulatory policies.
Maintain system stability during enhancement and maintenance cycles.
Lead cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions for critical business and production issues.
Document testing procedures and system improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on development in Java/Kotlin.
Strong experience with Scala (must-have).
Proven experience developing multithreaded JVM applications and large-scale distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with container technologies, especially Kubernetes.
Proficiency in performance tuning of JVM applications.
Experience with document storage databases, particularly MongoDB.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
Recent experience in financial services or investment banking (required).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with securities lending platforms.
Familiarity with compliance and audit standards in financial environments.
Knowledge of SDLC optimization and automation strategies.
