The Enterprise Architect team member will be a part of the team that supports the design of new applications, enhancements to existing applications and technical direction setting for the organization. Equitable is looking for someone with established analytical and problem-solving skills with collaborative interpersonal skills for direction setting and thought leadership in technical domain of infrastructure and task automation. The Solutions Architect will be the front-line architect to our supplemental benefits line of business for enhancements to their systems and technology POC. Responsible for the definition, maintenance and evolution of one or more systems within a line of business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Works with the application development teams of lines of business to provide specialized knowledge of a suite of technology and/or software products/applications. Provides Architecture expertise to help solve complex technical problems, ensuring the best architecture solutions are implemented wherever possible. Identifies exceptions to the current Guidelines and Standards and refers to the Lead Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect. Conducts research of standard tools and technology to deliver the enterprise architecture guidelines and standards under supervision of a more senior or lead architect. Understands the Business Objectives/Drivers that impact the architecture component (data, application, security, development, etc.). Able to work in Agile Kanban/Scrum methodology as member of scrum team, contributing skills outside of architecture domain; like development, requirements elicitation, code review, etc.
Plays a supporting role to the Lead Architect and/or Enterprise Architect in the evolution of assigned enterprise architecture components. May get involved updating Enterprise Architecture documentation.
Obtains an in-depth knowledge of the company’s Enterprise Architecture and Standards and assists in communications of these principals and their objectives to the application team.
Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.
Performs UML Modeling, activities mapping, and other solutions architecture activities.
Location and in-office schedule:
This team member can work in either the Syracuse, NY or Charlotte, NC office. This team member will work on a hybrid schedule of being in office 2-3 days per week. The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$142,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Qualifications Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with Solution Architecture / Enterprise Architecture
Knowledge of infrastructure automation and infrastructure as code technologies (examples include, but not limited to: ansible, PowerShell, terraform, ARM, knowledge of CICD tooling (ADO/GitHub))
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD of modern application frameworks
Ability to stay current on rapidly changing cloud landscape and develop POCs/plans to rapidly adopt new technology as it becomes available
Collaborative team player, self-starter, goal oriented, open minded, flexible and customer focused
Knowledge of AZURE public Cloud and AKS
Knowledge of Java Application development / Spring Boot and Quakus
Experience with GIT version control and change management best practices
Skills Agile Methodologies:
Knowledge of concept and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.
Documentation Architecture and Design:
Knowledge of documentation architecture and design; ability to build efficient processes, use appropriate tools and technique, and create complete documentation portfolios for software or technology products.
Enterprise IT Architecture:
Knowledge of enterprise IT architecture; ability to create and evolve an enterprises’ guiding principles and business architecture including organization structure, process architecture and performance management, as well as supporting information, applications and technology.
Software Development:
Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
Solution Architecture:
Knowledge of concepts behind solution architecture; ability to develop technology blueprints for addressing business problems and computing requirements.
Strategic Thinking:
Knowledge of the importance of “big picture” thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
