We are seeking a results-driven Application Development Manager to lead a small to medium-sized global development team, responsible for delivering quality application solutions across diverse platforms and technologies. This role plays a critical part in the entire systems development lifecycle , from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support. This position offers the opportunity to work in an Agile environment alongside teams in the U.S. and India , encouraging cross-functional collaboration and innovation in a fast-paced, evolving business context. Experience in the financial industry is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & People Management Manage and mentor a geographically distributed development team (U.S. and India) Provide performance feedback, conduct reviews, and support professional development Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and coaching of team members Assign and review work, provide technical guidance and resolve project roadblocks Software Development Oversight Manage all phases of application development including analysis, design, development, testing, and support Lead the development of design requirements and ensure adherence to business specifications Oversee the documentation and implementation of new systems and system modifications Ensure systems meet functionality, performance, and usability expectations through final quality assurance Agile Project Delivery Support and guide Agile practices, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement Ensure the development team meets sprint goals and project deadlines Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders and project managers Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Interface with business clients to understand their needs and ensure solutions align with goals Communicate project status, issues, and timelines effectively to technical and non-technical audiences Promote innovation and technology-driven problem solving Quality & Best Practices Encourage the use of modern development practices, standards, and tools Ensure conformance to design specifications and technical standards Oversee the development and execution of testing strategies to ensure application quality and stability Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum 8+ years of experience in application development and systems analysis At least 3+ years in a team leadership or management role Experience with full SDLC in a multi-platform, multi-technology environment Demonstrated experience in Agile delivery frameworks and team collaboration tools Preferred Qualifications Experience working with distributed or offshore teams Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Prior experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus but not required Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD practices, and modern architecture principles (e.g., microservices, cloud-native apps) Key Competencies Team Leadership & Coaching Agile Project Management Cross-Functional Communication Analytical Thinking & Technical Oversight Quality Assurance & Risk Mitigation Stakeholder Engagement & Business Alignment At BNY, our culture speaks for itself.
