Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to lead infrastructure architecture, design, and support for cloud and automation technologies. This role focuses on orchestrating cloud environments using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), enabling self-service capabilities for IT teams, and supporting the transition of retail systems to cloud-based platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), automation tools, and system administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage continuous integration and deployment processes, including environment setup and tool selection.
Design, build, and operate distributed systems in a GCP environment.
Lead the migration of retail store systems to cloud infrastructure using IaC.
Analyze and optimize technology architectures and system performance.
Maintain system lifecycle components including licensing, capacity, inventory, and end-of-life tracking.
Collaborate with security teams to define baseline security standards.
Architect and design infrastructure components including cloud services.
Develop hardware, software, and technology roadmaps for system lifecycle management.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical and performance issues.
Evaluate system requirements for performance, availability, and reliability.
Communicate project status and manage interdependencies.
Coordinate vendor maintenance and installations.
Maintain system documentation and procedures.
Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation and off-hour maintenance activities.
Cross-train team members and contribute to team development.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical education.
5+ years of experience managing large infrastructures using automation and cloud technologies.
Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (IaC, Git, CI/CD, configuration management, API integrations).
Working knowledge of GCP, Windows Server, Linux, and hypervisor platforms.
Proficiency in scripting languages (BASH, Python, PowerShell).
Understanding of IT best practices, policies, and procedures.
Ability to assess risk and resolve incidents proactively.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced experience with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Packer, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Ansible Automation Platform.
Intermediate proficiency in system languages and GCP stack.
Experience with microservices and Kubernetes (GKE or OpenShift preferred).
High proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
Experience with Jira and Confluence for ticketing and documentation.
