Mainframe Developmer Position Available In Allegheny, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Genesis10 is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a twelve-monthcontract to hire position. The candidate will be remote during thecontract, and upon conversion will be 4 days onsite in Pittsburgh,PA, Lake Mary, FL, Jersey City, NJ or New York, NY. This positionpays $80/hr -$85/hr W2 depending on experience Summary andresponsibilities: Collaborate with application teams in exploringmost suited MQ implementation for their requirements. Provision MQinfrastructure on mainframe z/OS and on distributed platform.

Understand, explain, configure, and support queue sharing groupconfigurations, clusters, channel authentications on the mainframe,certificates, etc. Have a broader understanding of mainframedependencies to support capacity on the mainframe, IPL, and DRevents. Provide assistance on MQ related alerts and incidents. Somebasic level of understanding in how applications use MQ on themainframe platform is expected. Some basic level of mainframeapplication programming in COBOL is preferred. Contribute on changemanagement and DR related events. Demonstrate high level ofownership and accountability.

Required skills:

8 years of relatedinfrastructure experience required. 8 years of experience inadministering MQ in z/OS environment. Strong knowledge of MQ QueueSharing Groups, MQ clusters with mainframe QManager members, managechannel authentication in z/OS, TLS certificate management, andstream Queues. Solid understanding of MQ DR events on mainframe andthe underlying dependencies. Some basic understanding of securityexits. Good understanding of change management and incidentpractices. Ability to multitask and manage deliverables under timepressure. Understanding CICS logs for troubleshooting purposes isexpected. IBM MQ Bachelor’s degree Preferred skills: Some basiclevel of mainframe application programming in COBOL is preferred.

Experience in the securities or financial services industry is aplus. Some understanding of MQ application programming experiencein z/OS environment (either C, COBOL, or Java) and theinfrastructure dependencies there.
