Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain Java/J2EE components for VaCMS system modules. Implement new features and functionalities for: Case Management (Medicaid, SNAP/SNAPET, TANF/VIEW, LIHEAP) Single Sign-On (SSO) across benefit program portals. Document Management & Imaging System Enterprise Data Integration (EDM, Asset Verification Services, Health Benefit Exchange) External Rules Engine enhancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, architects, and QA testers. Perform code reviews, unit testing, and participate in Agile ceremonies. Work with Oracle database for data modeling, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production and non-production environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
2+ years of professional experience in Java/J2EE development. Proficient in JSP, Servlets, JavaBeans, JavaScript , and front-end integration. Strong experience with Oracle Database (PL/SQL, triggers, functions, packages) . Experience integrating systems using
REST/SOAP
APIs . Working knowledge of Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies (SAML, OAuth, etc.). Familiarity with Rules Engines (Drools, IBM ODM, Blaze Advisor). Experience working with Document Management & Imaging Systems (e.g., FileNet, SharePoint). Solid understanding of public benefit programs and case management systems . Experience with enterprise data exchange protocols and tools (e.g., CI/DS, ETL interfaces).
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working on state or federal government health and human services systems . Experience with VaCMS or similar integrated case management platforms. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology. Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
