Role Purpose:

Wasabi is seeking a SoftwareEngineer to join the team that’s responsible for some of our coreservices. In this role, you will help build and improve some corecomponents which serve high volume customer requests and read/writelarge datasets at extremely high throughput, by using a combinationof databases, caching, message queues, and other softwareconstructs. Your skills in software development and problemsolving, as well as your knowledge in distributed systems will betested and improved on a regular basis. To be successful in thisrole, you should have a solid foundation in software design anddevelopment, as well as strong experience in building large scaleservices serving high volume traffic. You are expected tocollaborate with team members and be a strategic problem-solver.

Also, excellent communication skills and ability to connect withother engineers will be greatly valued.

Responsibilities:

o Build,develop, maintain, and test software components that serve some ofthe key components of Wasabi API services. o Troubleshoot, debug,and solve software issues and production incidents. o Understand,improve, and redesign some of our key services to help them scaleand improve reliability. o Contribute to the team with proactiveand continuous improvements, such as building better tools andimproving existing processes. o Help other team members on designreviews and code reviews.

Requirements :

o 7 years of softwareengineering experience, preferably in modern distributed services.o Proficiency with modern programing language such Golang, Java,and Python. o Hands-on experience with database technologies suchas MySQL, RabbitMQ, CockroachDB, or Cassandra. o Understanding ofcaching and message queues is a plus. o Understanding of webservices and modern API best practices (HTTP, REST, gRPC). oPractical experience with Agile software development principles andmethodologies. o Knowledge of common DevOps and CI/CD tools andprocesses. o Knowledge of deployment tools such as Ansible,Terraform or equivalent is a plus.
