About the role:

The Routing organization is building one ofSamsara’s most ambitious mobile experiences, designed to supportthe daily workflows of drivers in the field and help them staysafe, efficient, and on track. This is a deeply technical problemspace that blends real-time data, thoughtful UX, and platform-widecoordination to create a seamless experience under challengingconditions, like poor connectivity, dynamic job schedules, andconstantly changing routes. • Develop and maintain high-performance React Native mobileapplications for iOS and Android, delivering complex features atenterprise scale
• Design and implement polished, user-friendly UIcomponents with a focus on accessibility and consistency acrossplatforms, ensuring an excellent mobile user experience
• Profileand optimize application performance and responsiveness byidentifying bottlenecks, reducing render times, and improvingmemory usage, resulting in smooth and stable app behavior on allsupported devices
• Integrate with native iOS/Android modules andAPIs when needed by leveraging React Native’s bridging capabilitiesto unlock platform-specific functionality
• Collaborate closelywith product managers, designers, and backend engineers to plan andbuild new mobile features, ensuring code quality through peerreviews, robust testing, and adherence to mobile development bestpractices Minimum requirements for the role:
• 6 years of softwaredevelopment experience, including 4 years of hands-on mobile appdevelopment with React Native in production environments
• Deepknowledge of React Native as a mobile-first framework, with astrong grasp of its architecture, native components, andlimitations
• Proven experience creating native modules or bridgingReact Native with native iOS and Android code (Objective-C/Swiftand Java/Kotlin)
• Strong track record of performance tuning inmobile apps, including use of profiling tools and techniques todiagnose and resolve performance issues
• Hands-on experienceensuring mobile app accessibility compliance, applying bestpractices so that the app is usable by all customers
• Solidtesting and debugging skills in a mobile context – experiencewriting unit and integration tests and utilizing continuousintegration pipelines to maintain app stability and quality Anideal candidate also has:
• Familiarity with geospatial or mappingtechnologies such as Mapbox or Google Maps SDK
• Domain experiencein logistics, fleet management, or industrial IoT
• Background innative mobile development (Swift/Objective-C and Kotlin/Java)
