Role:

WarpStream isan Apache Kafka compatible data streaming platform built directlyon top of object storage with zero local disks. It’s delivered tocustomers as a BYOC-style offering. The WarpStream team isresponsible for this product offering from top to bottom, and as aSenior Engineer you’ll do everything from working on the storageengine running in the Agents, improving the scalability of ourmulti-tenant control plane, implementing new features liketransactions, active-active multi-regions clusters, and even writesome HTML/Javascript for our developer console. We’re a small teamof You will have an opportunity to solve complex distributedsystems problems at scale. You will build services that can operateacross different cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure.

You’ll be on-call for all of it. The WarpStream team is fullyremote and geographically distributed, currently we have engineersin: Spain, France, Canada, Ireland, and the USA.

What You Will Do:

• Independently drive execution of complex technical projects endto end.
• Build mission-critical backend services that delivervalue to our customers. You will play a crucial role inarchitecting, designing, developing and operationalizing highperformance, scalable, reliable and resilient services.
• Troubleshoot and debug technical issues inside a deep and complextechnical stack that includes microservices, containers, andvirtualization.
• Ensure operational readiness of the services andmeet the availability and performance SLA commitments to ourcustomers.

What You Will Bring:

• 10 years industry experiencedesigning, building, scaling and supporting backend systems inproduction with a solid grasp on good software engineeringpractices such as code reviews, deep focus on quality, anddocumentation
• Strong programming and algorithmic skills.

Proficiency in a major programming language, e.g. Java, Go, C /C++, Python, etc

• Deep curiosity and enthusiasm for distributedsystems and storage systems
• Strong focus on project delivery andcommunication skills
• Experience in driving operational excellencefor large production services
