Role Summary Splunk isseeking a highly motivated, inherently curious, results orientedindividual to join our dynamic pre-sales team. In this role youwill be a technical expert for Public Sector SLED (State and LocalGovernment agencies and Higher Education) customers. Splunk SEswill be able to answer technical inquiries from customers regardingSplunk technology, features, solutions, and applications as well asarticulate Splunk technology and product positioning to bothbusiness and technical users. You will identify all technicalissues of your assigned accounts to assure complete customerhappiness through all stages of the technical sales cycle, and youshould also establish and maintain positive relationships with ourcustomers technical staff. Meet the Team We support Splunkcustomers in the Southeastern United States. Through we tend tostay in our local geographies, we do support and cover each oneanother throughout the region. Responsibilities
- Develop deepunderstanding of the customers infrastructure, adjacentorganizations, activities, and their respective use cases.
- Driveenterprise-wide strategic value conversations with line of businessowners.
- Act as technical leader coordinating all strategic andtactical account activities.
- Collaborate with relevant internaland external resources while maintaining technical leadershipbefore, during, and after any engagement.
- Demonstrate a proactiveapproach to technical account ownership.
- Demonstrate and/ororchestrate Splunk’s products and solutions to customers eitheron-site or remotely, with a focus on value-based differentiators.
- Establish and maintain key strategic relationships with IT and MSPpartners.
- Develop and implement technical account plans for topstrategic accounts.
- Organize, coordinate, and complete thetechnical sales engineering activities for the top strategiccustomers. Requirements
- Experience with crafting and deliveringclient-ready presentations, whitepapers, discussion documents, andRFP responses that are appropriately scoped, technically accurate,as well as structurally and grammatically precise is preferred
- Validated experience communicating the business value of atechnical solution to varied levels of an organization – CIO, CISO,CTO, technical partners, etc.
- Committed to delivering software orother technical demonstrations to both technical and non-technicalaudiences
- Experience administering Linux and/or Windows systems.
Linux expertise is helpful
- Experience with coding and/orscripting to automate common tasks. (Python, bash, Ruby, etc.)
- Strong Preference to live in the Carolinas. Nice-to-haveQualifications We’ve taken special care to separate the must-havequalifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means justthat: Nice. - Proven experience with Security, ITOA, and/or IOTinfrastructures
- Cloud industry certifications: AWS, Azure, and/orGCP
- Strong understanding of SIEM and cyber security solutions oris a plus.
- Prior technical sales / technical services experiencefor 5 years is preferred.
- Practical experience reviewing anddrafting responses to State or Federal requests for comment,requests for information, requests for proposals, etc.
- Priorexperience using Splunk in an operational context
- Experiencedesigning and implementing analytic dashboards or othervisualization improvements in a production environment
