The Federal Civilian business unit supportsmany customers spanning the federal, commercial, and nonprofitspace. PrimaryResponsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as a subject matterexpert, while serving as an individual contributor that providesmentorship associated with software engineering competencies. APrincipal Software Engineer

  • Front End/ Back End exhibitsinfluential skills to shape future work streams within the currentcustomer base, while maintaining a strategic vision to successfullypursue new business opportunities.

With limited oversight fromleadership, you will be responsible for cohesively integratingindustry software engineering trends and devising a plan foradoption within programs, as well as the business unit. A PrincipalSoftware Engineer

  • Front End/ Back End serves as a representativeof the business unit, effectively communicating developmentstrategies to a diverse audience. Primary expectations of aPrincipal Software Engineer
  • Front End/ Back End include:
  • Provides organizational oversight of best practices associated withsoftware engineering
  • Exhibits a in-depth understanding ofsoftware development and utilizes their expertise to support thebusiness unit via new business or organic growth opportunities
  • Advocates for innovation among the business unit, and collaborateswith leadership throughout the organization
  • Demonstratessignificant technical competence and ownership to broad audienceswhile driving progress on company strategic objectives within thebusiness unit
  • Mentors, guides, and coaches other engineers at thecompany, with a focus on technical excellence and leadership
  • Defines and delivers minimal viable products independently or withnew teams given ambiguous requirements
  • Effectively communicateson existing systems, design decisions, past performance, and amajor history of the projects that they’ve been part of forbid-writing, tech demos, and other potentially client-facingcommunications
  • Maintains strong ties and familiarity with atleast one major technical ecosystem (through either maintenance orparticipation in major communities and projects)
  • May supporthiring, onboarding and career development activities
  • Mayrepresent the company publicly inclusive of writing blog posts,generating marketing materials, presenting at conferences, andtaking part in panel discussions
  • May work cross-functionally tosupport data analytics activities within other business units
  • Understanding of the BUs current labor mix, with the ability toidentify primary skills and experiences; supports the key personnelidentification process
  • Extensive understanding of government andpractice market conditions in order to drive organizationalimprovements and innovation
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’sdegree and 6 years of engineering experience
  • 8 relevant years ofexperience may be substituted for education
  • Extensive experiencewith large systems, leading large teams, and understandinginteractions between people, systems, and processes

Actualcompensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including butnot limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
