The FederalCivilian business unit supports many customers spanning thefederal, commercial, and nonprofit space. Our customers includeNASA, the General Services Administration, Office of PersonnelManagement, the Library of Congress, Health & Human Services, andthe FDIC. Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as anexperienced subject matter expert, while serving as an individualcontributor that provides strategic mentorship among the DevOpsengineering discipline. A Senior Principal DevOps Engineer exhibitsfull autonomy, with the ability to utilize influential skills toshape future work streams within the current customer base, whilemaintaining a strategic vision to successfully pursue new businessopportunities. With limited oversight from leadership, you willserve as the champion of the DevOps engineering discipline,overseeing the integration of industry trends and adoption withinprograms, as well as the business unit. A Senior Principal DevOpsEngineer serves as a representative of the business unit,effectively communicating software engineering strategies to adiverse audience. Primary expectations of a Senior Principal DevOpsEngineer include:

  • Serves as a DevOps expert; providingorganizational oversight of best practices
  • Exhibits a in-depthunderstanding of DevOps engineering and utilizes their expertise tosupport the business unit via new business or organic growthopportunities
  • Demonstrates significant technical competence andownership to broad audiences while driving progress on companystrategic objectives within the company
  • Mentors, guides, andcoaches other DevOps engineers at the company, with a focus ontechnical excellence and leadership
  • Architects and designsengineering tooling systems and cloud infrastructure that enableteams to scale quickly and reliably
  • Effectively communicates onexisting systems, design decisions, past performance, and a majorhistory of the projects that they’ve been part of for bid-writing,tech demos, and other potentially client-facing communications
  • Champions collaboration with teams across the company to identifyDevOps needs and delivers solutions to advance medium and long-termtechnology goals
  • May support hiring, onboarding and careerdevelopment activities
  • May represent the company publiclyinclusive of writing blog posts, generating marketing materials,presenting at conferences, and taking part in panel discussions
  • Understanding of the business unit’s current labor mix, with theability to identify primary skills and experiences; supports thekey personnel identification process
  • Extensive understanding ofgovernment and practice market conditions in order to driveorganizational improvements and innovation
Basic Qualifications:
  • Masters or PHD Degree and 12 years of experience – 12 years ofrelevant years of experience may be substituted for education
  • Extensive experience with large systems, leading large teams, andunderstanding interactions between people, systems, and processes
  • Familiarity of new industry trends in DevOps tools and concepts

Actualcompensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including butnot limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
