Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field. 3+ years of experience developing in IBM Cognos Analytics (reporting, dashboarding, and Framework Manager). Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience in higher education or a large public-sector environment. Familiarity with data governance principles and enterprise data warehouse environments. Exposure to other BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of Ellucian Banner ERP system, including modules such as Student, Finance, HR, and Financial Aid. Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle databases for querying, reporting, and system customization. Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and Shell scripting for Banner extensions. Understanding of Banner Extensibility tools (e.g., Page Builder, Admin Pages, APIs, and Web Services). Experience with workflow automation, integrations, and data exchange between Banner and third-party systems (e.g., Ethos, REST/SOAP APIs). Knowledge of higher education processes and regulations impacting ERP systems (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, financial aid compliance). Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and change management processes for ERP modifications. Awareness of cloud-based solutions, SaaS applications, and their integration with on-premises Banner environments.
