POSITION SUMMARY
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform team at Cryoport Systems, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality technical solutions to grow our foundational systems. You will collaborate closely with both technical peers and leadership. You will contribute to key architectural decisions, actively participate in project planning, and work hands-on with our core platformponents. Your expertise will help guide design and development, ensuring our systems meet both current and future business needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Platform Development:
Design, build, and maintain essential platformponents to support Cryoport Systems’ growth, focusing on performance and scalability.
Technical Execution:
Deliver high-quality code and contribute to architectural improvements by implementing solutions, under the strategic guidance of leadership.
Team Mentorship:
Lead code reviews and provide hands-on mentorship to junior engineers, adhering to best practices and fostering continuous learning.
Project Leadership:
Drive key project phases within the Platform team, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with team objectives.
Performance and Automation:
Identify and address performance bottlenecks, implement automation initiatives, and optimize processes at the team level.
Security and Compliance:
Implement security best practices and maintainpliance with internal standards, supporting broader risk management.
Collaboration:
Actively participate in technical discussions, document solutions clearly, and translateplex technical concepts into actionable insights for your immediate team.
Risk Mitigation:
Proactively identify potential technical risks within your projects and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement effective mitigation strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (required)
Experience:
7+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and distributed applications using technologies such as Ruby, Python, Java or similar server-side frameworks.
3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing API solutions, including building and optimizing REST, GraphQL, MQTT, or other standard Interfaces.
Technical Expertise
API Development & Integration:
Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs (REST, GraphQL, MQTT, or similar) for seamlessmunication and data exchange across distributed systems.
API Documentation:
Proficiency in creating and maintaining clear, developer-friendly documentation (e.g., using OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman) to facilitate efficient onboarding and integrations.
Third-Party Integrations:
Proven ability to integrate with external services, manage authentication and authorization flows, and troubleshoot connectivity issues across diverse platforms.
Compensation:
up to $150K,mensurate with experience
