Responsible for managing the software development function. This role analyzes and solves IT service management problems, issues, and challenges, as well as process improvement recommendations and business requirements for identifying and developing automation solutions and processes. Essential Job Duties Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures. Collaborate with other departments to prioritize software development needs including design, development, and documenting and testing new and existing software. Evaluate results within business unit to determine if organizational objectives are being met. Analyze and resolve software development issues and needs in terms of the software’s full life cycle. Design, develop, test, debug, and implements operating systems components, software tools, and utilities. Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics. Use programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write the software code. Support software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements. Assume other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff. Minimum Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of experience. Leadership experience. Preferred Requirements 5+ years of automotive warehouse/distribution experience. 1+ years of experience using ITIL V3 Foundations. 1+ years of experience using ServiceNow or other ITSM applications. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs. Demonstrate use of computer operations (programming, relational databases, and operating systems) and software packages. Frequently communicates complex information across departments and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others. Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents, and practices. Decisions impact the management and operations within a department or business unit. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional area. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others. Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity. Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently. Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements). Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
