DESCRIPTION
The Amazon Books Purchase and Payments Experience Org creates the most trusted and delightful purchase experience for Books customers across all formats (print, digital), reading surfaces, and worldwide marketplaces. We build simple, intuitive purchasing experiences and content acquisition options (ALC, Subscriptions, Rental, Borrow, Lending, etc.) while expanding customer access to new payment methods. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Software Development Manager (SDM) to join us as we innovate for Amazon Books customers. Expect to be challenged! Key job responsibilities
- You will design appropriate technical solutions to enhance the book’s architecture and shopping experiences used by all Books customers.
- Your role requires strong project management abilities, communication skills, and the capacity to influence and earn trust among software engineers, product teams, stakeholders, and business leaders.
- You will create a culture of innovation to delight our customers, collaborate with product managers to refine ideas into CX features, and work with diverse stakeholders to deliver the right solutions at the right time.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
