System Support Specialist

Job Description:

The System Support Specialist’s primary responsibility will be the Quality Assurance and sign off of guest operation applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing system specifications to understand software requirements.
Develop and execute test cases and analyze test results, testing and validating the functionality of various IT projects, including software applications, systems, and infrastructure, to ensure they meet the required standards of operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT testing, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced environment. This individual will be a trusted advisor to the Senior Manager and their Senior Support Specialist peers in regards to application performance.

Test Planning:

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure that all aspects of IT projects are thoroughly tested, including functionality, performance, security, and usability.

Test Case Development and Testing:

Create test cases and scripts to validate the functionality of software applications, systems, and infrastructure. Perform manual and automated testing of IT projects, including regression testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.

Defect Reporting:

They will ensure that business critical applications are operating efficiently and, when not, will be first point of contact to partner with the necessary teams to plan, design, test and implement solutions.

Test Environment Management:

Partner with various IT teams to create and ensure that test environments are properly set up and maintained to support testing activities.

Inventory Management Support:

Provides assistance to Sr. System Specialists in procuring and maintains all port equipment/assets, ensuring ports are appropriately equipped and that assets are repaired and replaced before end of life cycle. Coordinates the movement and delivery of all assets across our ports.

Qualifications:

ISTQB certified; CAST certified; CompTIA Security+
3+ years of experience in IT project testing
Strong understanding of software development life cycles
Knowledge of software testing methodologies (e.g., Agile and Waterfall)
Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks Basic programming knowledge
Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure, Bugzilla)
Develop test cases , Execute test cases and analyze test results
Document and report defects
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
Advanced level testing certifications (CMST, CSQA) preferred
