Work:

GITI is looking for aSoftware Test Engineer with documented expertise to be responsiblefor conducting automated tests to ensure the software created bycyber developers fits its purpose and meets operationalrequirements. The successful candidate will create test processesand procedures used to ensure that developed software operateswithin defined requirements and implement test plans, automation,and validation strategies. The candidate will also identify andinvestigate issues found during testing, update test cases based ondiscovered defects, and work closely with software developers andsoftware quality analysts to resolve issues. The candidate may workindependently but participate in project-wide reviews ofrequirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents,and work with developers and validation engineers to detect bugissues and prepare software defect reports. A Software TestEngineer must be able to collaborate well with a stronglean-forward attitude to shift knowledge left, deliver well, andproduce quality results. Support research, development, test & evaluation (RDT&E)for software applications, translating operational requirementsinto technical solutions and testing artifacts that provide novelcyberspace capabilities or modernize existing cyberspacecapabilities. Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, and testreports for assigned test and evaluation projects. Effectively use computer-assisted software engineering (CASE)tools, test automation tools, and infrastructure as code (IaC)capabilities. Champion effective team use of a defect tracking system (e.g.,JIRA) to ensure discovered defects are reported, assigned, andtracked to closure. Test utilizing the Agile methodology to identify the source ofan error and report to developers. Conduct debugging actions discovered in an application beforerelease to end-users. Perform system integration testing after a new feature isreleased to ensure it works as designed/expected in theenvironment. Execute the project’s test cases, develop, and maintain testscripts, and automation scripts. Perform regression testing on major releases using automationtools at the test suite level, if a failure results, identify thefailure and research the cause. Conduct quality assurance reviews of new, improved, or modifiedexisting cyber capabilities, and once they are resolved – evaluate,analyze, and assign priority to bug-fix tasks. Demonstrate strong communication skills to assist the team indelivering high-quality products on time while continuallyidentifying and mitigating risk factors. Demonstrate ability to research and apply new tools,techniques, and solution approaches. Continually learn and improveyour skills through sharing with others and taking advantage ofavailable training sources. Career level with a complete understanding and wide applicationof technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under onlygeneral direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range ofdifficult problems. Independently determines and develops approachto solutions. Bachelor’s (or equivalent) with 5 – 7 years ofexperience, or a Master’s and 3 to 5 years of experience.

RequiredSkills:

2 Years experience using, developing, or testing CNOtools. Experience as a Software Test Engineer. Experience developing test criteria, environments, scripts, andincorporating tools into a toolchain. Experience writing functional, integration, system, andacceptance tests in (Java, C, C++, Python, Bash, etc). Proven experience reviewing unit tests and advising developmentteams on how to improve thoroughness in testing. In-depth knowledge of software testing tools (Selenium, Appium,and Perfecto, etc.). Experience working in agile teams to rapidly, but conciselyderive customer requirements to produce tangible testingresults. Working knowledge of how to set up, manage, and create CI/CDpipelines using orchestration tools (Bamboo, Gitlab, etc.) Experience working with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes,etc) Ability to design and write complex application softwaretesting procedures. Experience working with both Linux and Windows operatingsystems. Working knowledge of networks, cyber security, and virtualenvironments. Working knowledge of test design and strategy, and cloudtechnologies. Strong technical writing, communication, problem-solving, anddebugging skills.

Desired Skills:

Experience developing automated test scripts from scratch. Experience designing and developing (new or modified) testautomation solutions to meet requirements. Knowledge of web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) andweb application testing. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools(Docker, Kubernetes, etc). Good understanding of agile software development lifecycles.
